Temporary Appointment of Municipal
Court Judge
RE:
This matter is on your consent agenda at the request of William
R. Jordan III, attorney at law, seeking to have himself appointed
on a temporary basis as a deputy municipal court judge so that he
may preside over a wedding. City Council has traditionally
approved these one-day appointments pursuant to section 7.2(b)of
the City Charter, which authorizes Council to appoint one or more
deputy judges as it deems necessary. (The resolution expressly
limits the authority and power of the "temporary judge" to
performing the marriage.)
REOUESTED ACTION: Approve Resolution No. ~~ (series of 1992)
appointing William R. Jordan III as a deputy municipal court
judge for a term of one day, May 16, 1992.
