'~" ';,. .," i~" --- ~3 RESOLUTION NO. /.- (Series of 1992) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, APPOINTING WILLIAM R. JORDAN III AS A DEPUTY MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. WHEREAS, William R. Jordan III is an attorney-at-law li- censed in the State of Colorado (Reg. No. #2761) and practicing law in Pitkin County, Colorado; and WHEREAS, said William R. Jordan III has requested a one-day appointment by the City Council of the City of Aspen as Deputy Municipal Judge in order to officiate at a wedding in pitkin County, Colorado; and WHEREAS, the city Council has the power to make such an appointment pursuant to section 7.2(b) of the Charter of the City of Aspen. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, that said William R. Jordan III be and hereby is appointed a Deputy Municipal Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Aspen, Colorado, without compensation, for the day of May 16, 1992, for the sole purpose of officiating at the marriage of Debbie F. Jordan III, attorney at law, seeking to have himself appointed on a temporary basis as a deputy municipal court judge so that he may preside over a wedding. City Council has traditionally approved these one-day appointments pursuant to section 7.2(b)of the City Charter, which authorizes Council to appoint one or more deputy judges as it deems necessary. (The resolution expressly limits the authority and power of the "temporary judge" to performing the marriage.) REOUESTED ACTION: Approve Resolution No. ~~ (series of 1992) appointing William R.
