A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED GRANTING TO PITKIN COUNTY,
COLORADO, ANY AND ALL INTEREST WHICH THE CITY OF ASPEN MAY HAVE TO
THE PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE PITKIN COUNTY' SANITARY
LANDFILL OR "COUNTY DUMP".
WHEREAS, the County and the City jointly own the lands commonly known as the
Pitkin County Sanitary Landfill or "County Dump"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an inter-governmental agreement entered into between the City
of Aspen and Pitkin County dated May 27, 1987, the landfill is operated as a department of the
County; and
WHEREAS, the electors of the City of Aspen did authorize the City Council to convey
to Pitkin County all of its interests in said sanitary landfill at an election held on May 5, 1987;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
of Aspen to convey to Pitkin County all interests it may have in that real property jointly owned
by the City of Aspen and the County of Pitkin, located in the unincorporated area of Pitkin
County, commonly known as the Pitkin County Sanitary Landfill or "County Dump".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO:
That the Mayor of the City of Aspen is hereby authorized to execute that certain quit
claim deed, a true and accurate copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit" A", conveying all
of the City of Aspen's interest in the lands having the following legal description:
A tract of land being parts of Lot 3, 5, 13, 15, and 16 of Section 8 and parts of
Lots 8, 10, 11, 12; 13, 14, 18, and 19 of Section 7, all in Township 9 South,
Range 85 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Pitkin County, Colorado, more
particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point whence the Northwest

3448.3 feet; thence North 77002' West 948.7 feet; thence North 49030' West
1264.8 feet; thence North 45"24' East 2514.7 feet; thence North 65"27' East

OUlT CLAIM DEED
THIS DEED, made this 2:L day of ~ , 1992, between the City
of Aspen, Colorado, a home rule municipality, grantor, and the Board of County Commisioners
of Pitkin County, Colorado, grantee,
WITNESSETH
That the grantor, for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) and other
good and valuable consideration the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged,
has remised, released, sold, conveyed, and QUIT CLAIMED, and by these presents does
remise, release, sell, convey and QUIT CLAIM unto the grantee, its successors and assigns,
forever, all the right, title, interest, claim and demand which the grantor has in and to the real
property, together with improvements, if any, situate, lying and being in the County of Pitkin
and State of Colorado, described as follows:
A tract of land being parts of Lot 3, 5, 13, 15, and 16 of Section 8 and
parts of Lots 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, and 19 of Section 7, all in

title, interest and claim whatsoever of the grantor, either in law or equity, to the only proper
use, benefit and behoof of the grantee, its successors and assigns forever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the grantor has executed this deed on the date set forth
above.

RE: Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Negotiate and Execute
Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate -- Red Brick School
Building
Attached for your consideration is a Resolution which if approved
would authorize the city Manager to negotiate the final terms and
conditions of a contract to purchase the Red Brick School Build7
ing and thereafter execute the same on behalf of the city of
Aspen.
The Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate will contain provisions
that the offer is conditioned upon the outcome of the Special
Election.
