RESOLUTION NO. l.!..- (Series of 1995) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE OF THE CITY OF ASPEN A CERTAIN QUESTION AT THE MAY 2, 1995, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, SETTING SUCH BALLOT TITLE, AND SETTING FORTH THE LOCATIONS OF POLLING PLACES. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to place before the electorate of the City of Aspen a certain ballot question; and WHEREAS, City Council is authorized pursuant to Section 5.7 of the Aspen City Charter to, on its own motion, submit questions to a vote of the electorate. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1. The title and submission clause of the measure to be submitted to the electorate at the May 2, 1995, general municipal elections shall read as follows: Submitted Question _' Shall on-street paid parking continue to be a part of the City of Aspen's current Transportation Plan with the net revenues used to continue and increase transportation services for the Aspen area? YES NO Section 2. The polling places for the May 2, 1995, general municipal election shall be established at the following locations in the City of Aspen: ~, 'tIP ie, '\::,: '-'. ~e ~ ~ 1. St. Mary's Church - Corner of Main Street and Hunter Avenue. 2, Community Church - 200 East Bleeker. 3. Christ Episcopal Church - 536 North Street. 4. Pitkin County Library - 120 N. Mill Street. Section 3. The City Clerk, at least ten days before the election, shall give written or printed notice of the election stating the date of the election and the hours during polls will be open, designating the polling places, stating the qualifications of persons to vote in the election, naming the officers to be elected and the questions to be voted upon, and listing the names of those candidates whose nominations have been certified to her, which listing shall be as nearly as possible in the form in which such nominations shall appear upon the official ballot. A copy of such notice shall be posted until after the election in a conspicuous place in the office of the clerk. In addition the notice shall be published in at least one newspaper having general circulation in the City of Aspen. The publication in any weekly newspaper shall be in the next to last issue thereof before the day of the election. All polling places shall be designated by a sign conspicuously posted at least ten days before the election. Such sign shall be substantially in the form: "POLLING PLACE FOR PRECINCT NO... ". In addition, such sign shall state the date of the next election and the hours the polling place will be open. Section 3. The aforesaid election shall be conducted in all respects in accordance with the Colorado Municipal Election Code, Sections 31-10-101, et seq., C.R.S. 2 'e ( , '" '1",- ,., ~. ~e ''\ <.
