HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.065-95 '- ,1\, ' Wi ~ , i'..,,',. ~:\~,,- ~,7,.,....., \.;:., RESOLUTION NO. ~~ (series of 199~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD ADVISORY COMMITTEE (NAC) TO THE PEDESTRIAN AND BIKEWAY COMMITTEE (PBC) WHEREAS, City Council has indicated that the name of the Neighborhood Advisory Committee is somewhat ambiguous and does not clearly explain the purpose of the group; and WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) discussed new names at their September 7, 1995 meeting and recommend to City Council that their name be changed to the Pedestrian and Bikeway Committee; and WHEREAS, it has been the role of the NAC to assist staff with the creation, implementation, and amendment of the Pedestrian Walkway and Bikeway System Plan which was adopted on September 24, 1990; and WHEREAS, the NAC believes a name change to the Pedestrian and Bikeway Committee is more descriptive and better reflects what the committee works on; and WHEREAS, to better understand the role and purpose of the committee,' and how Committee members are appointed, staff is preparing by-laws and procedures for the Committee to be reviewed and approved by City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO THAT: "., , \W' IA..""." ~;. fit' \It :.:.,~,. . The Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) is hereby renamed to the Pedestrian and Bikeway Committee (PBC).
