HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.017-96 e - e RESOLUTION NO. ..tL (Series of 1996) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, GRANTING A HISTORIC PROPERTY MAINTENANCE LOAN. WHEREAS, Section 26.72.060(C) provides City Council with the ability to grant a one-time, no interest loan, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, to the owner of a historic property to assist in maintenance costs; and WHEREAS, Fred Pearce and Ethel McCabe, owners of the historic landmark at 216 E. Main Street have requested a loan in order replace the existing roof; and WHEREAS, the project cost is in excess of $10,000; and WHEREAS, City Council supports the loan award in an effort to assist owners of historic properties with the associated maintenance costs and in order to avoid the occurrence of "demolition by neglect." NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1 That a one.time, no interest loan in the amount of $10,000 be awarded to Fred Pearce and Ethel McCabe, owners of 216 E. Main Street. Section 2 That the applicant shall provide the Community Development Director for receipts from all work completed as part of this loan. e - Section 3 That the loan is to be repaid in full within ten years or when the title is transferred, whichever is sooner.
