HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.054-96 . . - RESOLUTION NO. 54 (Series of 1996) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, GRANTING .SPECIAL APPROVAL FOR SIGNAGE AT THE ASPEN ART MUSEUMl WHEREAS, Section 26.36.130(8) establishes the maximum signage per street frontage for institutional uses; and WHEREAS, Section 26.36.110, requires Council approval for any signs installed in the public right-of-way; and WHEREAS, City Council finds that it is appropriate for the Aspen Art Museum, as a public facility to install a banner on the existing lightpost at the corner of Mill Street ard Gibson Avenue, and a banner on the first lightpost on Gibson Avenue in order to identify their location and entrance, and therefore allows the Aspen Art Museum to exceed the maximum signage per street frontage. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1 Two banners, as represented in the drawing attached to this Resolution, may be installed at the Aspen Art Museum on the city lightpoles. One banner may be placed on the lightpole at the corner of Mill Street and Gibson Avenue, and one banner may be placed on the first Iightpole on Gibson Avenue. Section 2 The applicant shall coordinate with the City Electric Department for any special installation concerns. - - - RESOLVED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this~day of ~ 1996, by the City Council for the City of Aspen, Colorado. ~~_ / f?~---.P6 ~ ---- John S.
