RESOLUTION NO. 7:L
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO,
THROUGH THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION, TO ACT.
AS REVIEWING ENTITY FOR THE STATE INCOME TAX CR.EDIT PROGRAM
FOR QUALIFYING HISTORIC REHABILITATION PROJECTS UNDER C.R.S.'
SECTION 39-22-514.
WHEREAS, the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission and City
Council support the creation of incentives to assist in the preservation and
protection of historically significant resources; and
WHEREAS, C.R.S. Section 39-22-514, as amended, provides for
rehabilitation tax credits for qualified historic structures throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, Aspen, as a certified local government pursuant to the
provisions of 16 U.S.C. Section 470a(c)(1), as amended, is eligible to review
such rehabilitation tax credit projects as reviewing entity as defined by C.R.S.
Section 39-22-514(12)(1);
WHEREAS, the provisions of C.R.S. Section 39-22-514(10)(a) require
that each certified local government annually adopt a resolution stating whether
it will act as a reviewing entity during the following twelve (12) months; and
WHEREAS, the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission, as the City of
Aspen's official review board for historic resources, hereby endorses
rehabilitation project reviews at the local level, which provides and increased
level of preservation service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO RESOLVES:
The City of Aspen, through the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission, hereby
agrees to act as a reviewing entity for the purposes of C.R.S. Section 39-22-514

(3) and (6) for calendar year 1997, maintain a "preservation fund" as required by
C.R.S. Section 39-22-514(11)(b)(I), and utilize the project application fees as
provided for in C.R.S. Section 39-22-514(11)(a) for use in administering the
program and to provide information and education to the community within the
context of historic preservation.
RESOLVED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this ~ay Of~96, bY
