A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT TO BUY AND SELL REAL ESTATE
BETWEEN THE WALTER E. PAEPCKE LIFE INSURANCE TRUST AND THE CITY OF
ASPEN, COLORADO, FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY COMMONLY REFERRED
TO AS THE BURLINGAME RANCH, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council a Contract to Buy and Sell
Real Estate between The Walter E. Paepcke Life Insurance Trust and the City of Aspen, a true
and accurate copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO:
That the City Council of the City of Aspen hereby approves that Contract to But and Sell

Real Estate for the property commonly referred to as the Burlingame Ranch, a copy of which is
annexed hereto and incorporated herein, and does hereby authorize the City Manager of the City
of Aspen to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Aspen.
INlRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Aspen on

ASPEN, COLORADO, a Colorado municipal corporation, whose legal address is c/o
City Manager, 130 South Galena Street, Aspen, Colorado 81611;
WHEREAS, the above-named decedent, Elizabeth H. Paepcke, in her lifetime
made and executed her Will dated February 22, 1993 and three codicils thereto dated
May 28, 1993,' July 16, t 993 and January 31, 1994 (collectively hereinafter "Will"),
which Will was duly admitted to probate on June 30, 1994, by the Circuit Court afCook
County, Illinois, County Department, Probate Division, Case No. 94-P~5517; and
WHEREAS, Grantors were duly appointed Co-Personal Representatives
(Independent Co-Executors) of said Estate on June 30, 1994, in Case No. 94-P-5517 of
the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, County Department, Probate Division, and are
currently qualified and acting in said capacity. On September 13, 1994, the District Court
of Pitkin County, Colorado, recertified the Letters of Office.Decedent's Estate under
Colorado Probate Case No. 94PR21, thus providing the foreign Co-Personal
Representatives (Independent Co-Executors) with all the .powers of local Co~Personal
Representatives under Colorado Jaw.
