DEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE FOR CITY AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS
Aspen City Council at their April 1, 1991 work session directed the
Housing Authority to prepare development schedules for the
following properties: West Hopkins, Kraut, /~.ustin, and East
Hopkins.
The status and schedules of the four (4) projects are summarized
belo~;. Attached are more development schedules and preliminary
development budgets for the west Hopkins and Kraut properties.
WEST HO~KINS~ A Rezoning Application was submitted to the City on
Friday, 22 March. The Public Projects Review Group (PPRG) is
scheduled to review the project in early May. The project will
then be presented to Planning/Zoning Commission in late May.
Selection of an architectural/planning team is currently underway.
A team s?ould be contracted wit.h t.he Autho.rity by 3 June. The
preparation of the General Submission application will co--ence
immediatelf thereafter.
The construction of the eleven (11) unit project is anticipated to
begin by the middle of October. This reflects a seven (7) month
planning and governmental approval process.
KRRUT: The Authority is ready to begin developing conceptual
alternatives for the Kraut parcel at the end of April. If
agreement on a conceptual development plan can be reached by late
May, the Authority will be able to submit a Rezoning Application to
the City by the end of June.
It is estimated construction of the project could begin, weather
permitting, by February 1992. This would entail a nine (9) month
process, from concept to start of construction.
AUBTIN: Several "rough" conceptual plans have been developed for
the Austin property. These sketches can be finalized and ready for
discussion within two (2) weeks.
Once the Kraut Rezoning Application is submitted in June, work can
begin on preparing the Austin submittal. This project varies
slightly from the others in that it requires Historic Preservation
Committee (HPC) review. A ten (10) month design/approval process
