We have been able to negotiate significant sponsorship dollars from Sanctuary at Snowmass and Intrawest contingent to hOst a special event on the mall in front of their discovery center (old ASpen Drug) during the Fourth of July. BENEFIT TO ASPEN: Allowing us to allow Sanctuary at Snowmass to host such an event will enable us to use sponsorship dollars to increase the level of activity in the core and/or fund new programs. More funding equals more vitality. We anticipate this sponsorship opportunity to generate approximately $10,000. REQUEST: ACRA request permission for Sanctuary at Snowmass to host reception for locals and visitors (open to all) at their Aspen discovery Center (old Aspen Drug) over two days during Fourth of July. Sanctuary to offer free hot dogs, soft drinks (no liquor), prizes, giveaways, and music during day-light hours on Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd and 4th. We do not anticipate the need for a liquor license or noise variance as no liquor will be served or sold and amplified music will end by no later than 9:00pm. CONCLUSION: Approval of this request would achieve the following opportunities: · Facilitate an important revenue source for events · Provide the sponsor with a branding opportunity and product sampling · Convenience to visitors at locations not directly competing with local businesses DATE: June 10, 2004 TO: CCLC FROM: Hana Pevny and Scott Bayens RE: Request for sponsorship vending in the commercial core (July 3-4, 2004; August 1-2, 2004 and August 28, 2004) In our ongoing efforts to fund special events, sponsorship dollars are critical to our success. We have been able to secure a water sponsor for several events this summer contingent upon the ability to activate the sponsOrship by selling product in various locations in the commercial core during specific events - Fourth of July, Aspen Arts Festival and the Colorado Exotic Car Association. BENEFIT TO ASPEN: Allowing us to offer limited water sales will enable us to use sponsorship dollars to increase the level of activity in the core and/or fund new programs. More funding equals more vitality. We anticipate this sponsorship opportunity to generate approximately $10,000.
