Aspen City Council,
Aspen, Colorado.
Gentlemen,
Yic As 'en Planning and. Zoning Coffaiission has considered the request
by Tony Beriunen for annexation to the City of Aspen. TI-e Commission believes
that before any P.irthor annexation should be considered, a street plan for this
area should be worked out. lViany of the streets in this area are below the
standards set forth in the Ci'U-yts subdivision reg—uJations, and a few are not
even dedicated rights -of -ways, including streets already inside the City limits.
The Cafnimission requests that the City Council authorize the preparation of
a map showing the existing streets and rights -of —rays, and an overlay map
showing the recatw-endations of the City Engineer to bring tIlle streets up to
acceptable standards. We wish to call to your attention Sections 139-59-17
through 139-59-24 of the Planning and Zoning Statutes as a basis for our
recommendation.,

Gent lemen:
ilegarding anre etion to_ the Citzr of :,seen of the Junz:y Park
Sudivisions and the extension of water mains to serve same I
would like to propose the following;
T2hat the City annex tha subdivisions as soon as possible so
it will receive substantial sal3s taxes from building materials to
be used in homes in the urea.
:h,A-t 1 pay the cost of all materials used to extend .rater Lain
from front of Mrs. 3ihbig's house to serve all of Surxq Pork, the
City furnishing; labor And enginaoring. the City will then own the
ruin and will receive all tap foes and all other revenues from the
main. ._lso, this will plr ce the main nearer the mine durps area
and the City will be in a position to sell Prater thereto.
1 believo this will be ion equitable arrangement for both
partial.
