ORDINANCE NO. ~
(Series of 1975)
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE STITZER RESIDENCE (LOTS K, L AND
M, BLOCK 81), VAN HOEVENBERGH RESIDENCE (LOTS M AND N, BLOCK 71),
AND THE COWENHOVEN BUILDING (LOTS A,B,C AND D, BLOCK 95) WITHIN
THE CITY OF ASPEN AS HISTORIC STRUCTURES AND SITES PURSUANT TO
ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, there have been tendered for consideration as
historic structures and sites three (3) buildings within the City,
and
WHEREAS, subsequent to a joint public hearing conducted
by the Historic Preservation Committee and Planning and Zoning
Commission on Tuesday, November 4, 1975, both commissions did
recommend historic designation, and the City Council wishes to
adopt this recommendation and complete the designation process,
NOW, ?HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:

Section 1
That the following described lands and structures
situate thereon within Pitkin County, Colorado, be and hereby are
designated as historic structures and sites pursuant to the pro-
of Article IX of Chapter 24 of the Aspen Municipal Code,
Lots K, L and M of Block 81, City and Townsite
of Aspen, Colorado;
Lots M and N of Block 71, City and Townsite of
Aspen, Colorado; and
Lots A, B, C and D of Block 95, City and Townsite
of Aspen, Colorado.
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application

thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of
the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid pro-
visions or applications, and to this end the provisions or
applications of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

That a public hearing on this ordinance shall be held

Chambers, City Hall, Aspen, Colorado, fifteen (15) days prior
to which hearing notice of the same shall be published in a
newspaper of general circulation within the City.
