AN ORDINANCE ~4ENDING SEC. 7-141 OF THE ASPEN
MUNICIPAL CODE (AMENDMENTS TO UNIFORM BUILDING
CODE, 1976 EDITION) BY THE ADDITION OF SUBSECTION (t)
WHICH SPECIFIES REQUIRED SLOPE FOR RAMPS AND FURTHER
PROVIDES THAT STAIRWAYS WITH A MAXIMUM RISE OF 7½
INCHES AND A MINIMUM RUN OF 36 INCHES SHALL ALSO
FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBSECTION
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend Section 7-141
of the Aspen Municipal Code by the addition of subsection (t)
thereto for the benefit of the City of Aspen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That Section 7-141 of the Aspen Municipal Code is hereby
amended by the addition of subsection (t) to read as follows:
(t) Section 3306(c) of the uniform Building Code, 1976
edition, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 3306(c) Slope ramps required by Table No.
33-A shall not exceed a slope of one vertical to 10
horizontal. A stairway with a maximum rise of
7½ inches and a minimum run of 36 inches shall
also fulfill the requirements of this subsection
for ramps required in Table 33-A. The slope of
other ramps shall not exceed one vertical to
8 horizontal."
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance shall be found to be
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect any remaining portion
or application which can be given effect and to this end this
ordinance is declared to be severable.
Section 3
A public hearing on this ordinance shall be held on
