AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON THE SUBDIVISION
OF LODGE AND HOTEL UNITS AND THE APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION
EXEMPTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDOMINIUMIZATION, TIME SHARING OR
THE SPLITTING OF THE FEE OF SUCH UNITS
WHEREAS, the Council adopted Ordinance No. 74, Series of
1979, which established a tea~orary moratorium on the subdivision
of lodge and hotel units; and
WHEREAS, by the provisions of Ordinance No. 74, Series of
1979, said moratorium was to be for a period not to exceed
February 1, 1980; and
WHEREAS, the Aspen Lodge Association in cooperation with the
City of Aspen has prepared and proposes the adoption of the
attached ordinance which is identified as Exhibit "A" hereof and
made a part hereof by reference; and
WHEREAS, full consideration of said ordinance will require a
public hearing before the Planning & Zoning Co~nission of the City
of Aspen and two readings before the City Council of the City of
Aspen;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
The City of Aspen hereby exercises those powers and rights
granted to the City by the Constitution of the State of Colorado
as a home rule charter city to promote the safety, health and
general welfare of the City by extending the temporary moratorium
established by the adoption of Ordinance No. 74, Series of 1979,
for a period of time to and including ~, 1980.

This temporary moratorium shall affect all hotel and lodge
units within the corporate limits of the City of Aspen with
respect to requests from property owners for the platting or
subdivision of such property for the purpose of condominium-
ization, time sharing or the splitting of the fee of such units
for an exemption of such property from the provisions of the sub-
division regulations (ordinance); provided,
