AN ORDINANCE MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE
WATER DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $159,485.00 FOR THE CITY OF
ASPEN BUDGET YEAR 1974; AN~ DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS
REQUIRING IMMEDIATE ENACTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested supplemental
appropriations to various funds within the Water Department,
reducing unappropriated revenues thereby, all as hereinafter
described, and
WHEREAS, the City of Aspen must complete its appropriation
procedures before the close of the 1974 calendar year, and enact-
ment by emergency ordinance procedures is required, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wis~e'S,,~o approve the request-
ad supplemental appropriation pursuant to"~ection 9.12 of the
Aspen Charter and do so by emergency ordinance as authorized by
Section 4.11 of said Charter,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1.
That One Hundred Fifty Nine Thousand Four Hundred and
Eighty-Five ($159,485.00) Dollars be appropriated to the
Water Department as follows:

Section 2.
By reason of the fact that the City must complete appropri-
ation procedures before the close of the 1974 calendar year, it
is hereby declared that an emergency exists and that this
ordinance is necessary to the immediate preservation of the public
property, health, peace and safety, and that it shall be in full
force and effect upon final passage and be published within ten
(10) days after final passage, or as soon thereafter as possible.
Section 3.
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions
or applications of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
