AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2, SERIES OF 1965,
PROVIDING FOR REGISTRATION OF EMPLOYEES IN OCCUPATION
AND INDUSTRIES CRITICAL TO THE ECONOMY OF THE CITY OF
ASPEN, COLORADO, AND VICINITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
TO EXIST.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council
of Aspen, Colorado:
Section 1: Section 1,
of the City
paragraph three,
Series of 1965,
entitled
is hereby
"Employee", of Ordinance No. 2,
amended to read as follows:
"Employee" shall mean any person receiving
remuneration, either directly or indirectly,
for services rendered to any of the above
enumerated businesses while in the employ
thereof, notwithstanding that said person may
be considered self-employed for tax or other
purposes. The residency of any person in the
County of Pitkin, Colorado, for a period of
one (1) year or more, or the employment of any
person in the County of Pitkin, Colorado, for
a total of twelve (12) months during one (1)
successive five (5) year period, regardless
of whether such residence or employment was or
is established before or after the effective
date of this ordinance, shall exclude any such
person from the definition of the term "employee",
and shall relieve such person from further com-
pliance herewith, and shall relieve any
employer of compliance herewith with regard
to such person.
Section 2: Section 7, of Ordiance No. 2, Series
of 1965, is hereby amended by adding a new subparagraph
thereto lettered(g), as follows:
(g) It shall be unlawful for any person to
give false information to the Department in
connection with registration. Any registration
card issued on the basis of false information
shall be cancelled by the Department, and such
applicant shall not be allowed to register for
six (6) months after such cancellation.
Section 3: Section 9 of Ordinance No. 2,
Series of 1965, is hereby re-enacted in its entirety,
as follows:
"Section 9: Any person guilty of any act herein
declared unlawful, or any person who fails to do any
act herein affirmatively required to be done by such
person, shall,upon conviction thereof, be punished
by a fine not exceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment
not exceeding 90 days."
Section 4: Because of the matters and things
hereinabove set forth, the City Council of the City of Aspen,
Colorado, hereby finds, determines and declares that an
emergency exists, and that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of public peace, health
and safety.

at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado,
on the 3rd day of January , 196 . and published in the Aspen
times, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published in the City
of Aspen, Colorado. in its issue of January 6 , 1966, and
was finally adopted and approved at a regular meeting of the City
January 17 , 1966, and ordered published as

NOTICE OF HEARING
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the
City of Aspen, Colorado,has passed on first reading an
Ordinance providing for registration of employees in
occupations and industries critical to the economy of the
City of Aspen, Colorado, and vicinity.
Copies of such ordinance are on file with the Clerk
of the City of Aspen, Colorado, and are there open to public
inspection.
Notice is further given that two public hearings
will be held in connection with said ordinance, the first
of such hearings to be held on April 12, 1965, at 8:00 o'clock
P.M., in the District Courtroom in the Courthouse in the City
of Aspen, Colorado, and the second of such hearings to be held
at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Aspen,
Colorado, on April 19, 1965, at 3:30 o'clock P.M., in the
City Council chambers in the City Hall of Aspen, Colorado.
