BE IT ORDAII~ED by the City Cotnloil of the City of Aspen,
Colorado:
Section l: Section 3-3-3 (i) of Chapter 3 of T~tle Y_II of the
Official Code of the City of Aspen, Colorado, zs hereby re-enacted zn :ts
entmrety,
as follows:
"3-3-3 (i) - All service pmpes and other fmxtures connected
w~th the water mamns shall he of 9ood and sufficient material,
well and suhstsntiallymade, and the lsyin§ of such pipes and
all the work done in so conducting ~rater from the main, shall
be done mn a skmllful and workmanlmke manner. Ail servmce
pmpes shall he laid at least 6 feet below t~e established
grade of the street from the main to the 9utter, and in all
places, at least 6 feet below the surface of the ground. The
backfxllxng shall all he done mn a 9ood and wormuanlxke manner,
leawng the street in good condmtion.
The owner of the premises shall furnmsh and pay for all
materials, tools, labor, and all expenses Xn and about the
makmng of allf~nections with the main, including a thaw
wire extendmng from the corporation stop on the main to the
back of the curb, or to the curb box, Whichever the Maria§er
may dmrect.

requmrements of thms section, shall be done over upon the
direction of the aanager."
Section ~.: Section 3-3-3 (n) of the Official Code of the City
Colorado, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3-3-3 (n) - The owner of any premmses for which a con-
nection zs made, shall at all times keep all pipes, fix-
tures and applxances from pomnt of connectxon at the
stop-cock to and on hms premises tmght and mn good werkmng
order and so as to prevent any waste of water, in case
any pzpe or fmxture shall he found to leak water, the
owaer shall forthwith repair and correct the same, and
the owner shall he responsible for thawing frozen pmpes
from the pomnt of connection with the main to hms premmses."

set forth, the Czty Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado, hereby
fznds, determznes end declares that an emergency exists, ~nd that
this erdinance zs necessary for the immediate preservation of publxc
peace, health and safety.

passed on first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Aspen on March 21 ,
196 6 , and published in the Aspen Times a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, published in the
City of Aspen, Colorado, in its issue of March 24 ,
1966 , and was finally adopted and approved at a
regular meeting of the City Council on April 4 ,
196 6 and ordered published as Ordinance No 4
Series of 196 6 , of said City, as provided by law.
