THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE: APPROPRIATING SUMS OF MONEY TO
DEFRAY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, FOR
THE CITY'S FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY ~, 1963, AND ~NDING ON THE
LAST DAY OF DECEMBER,1963.
WHEREAS, the City Council has, by ordinance, adopted a
budget for the City for the fiscal year b~nning January 1, 1963,
ending on the last day of D~cember, 1963,?land;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has, by ordinance, made the proper
tax levy in mills upon each dollar of the total assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the City such levy representing the amount
of taxes for City purposes necessary to provide for payment during the
City's fiscal year of all properly authorized demands upon the treasury,
and;
WHEREAS, the City Council is now desimous of making appropria-
tions for the ensuring fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
SECTION 1: That the following appropriations are hereby
made for the City of Aspen, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning
January 1, 1963, and ending on the last day of December, 1963, from
the General Fund for the payment of operating expenses and capital
outlay of the general government, public safety, public works, recrea-
tion, p~blic health, contingencies, and for payment of the principal
and interest on the City's general debt:

B~.Bj~cle Ordtnara~na~¢~e__for the City of A~pen. I would like to have
you bring this to the next meeting for discussion with the
Council. · iS my understanding that the primary purpose of this
Ordinance is to provide the registration of bicycles to assist
the police in tracking down stolen machines. The Ordinance is
drafted primarily to accomplish this.
