HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.008-61ORDINANCE NO. 8 (Series of 1961) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 29, ORDINANCE NO. 1 (SERIES OF 1960), RELATING TO METER R~TES AND CHARGES AND AMENDING SECTION 47, SAID ORDINANCE NO. 1, PROVIDING FOR TAP CHARGES FOR WATER USERS WITHIN THE CITY OF ASPEN AND OUTSIDE THE CITY OF ASPEN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN: SECTION 1: That portion of S ction 29, Ordinance No. (Series of 1960) relating to meter rates shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: 1 RATE: GALLONS USED PER MONTH: Within City First 2,500 $3.35 Next 12,500 .50 Next 20,000 .40 Next 30,000 .30 Next 35,000 .25 Next 100,000 .23 Ail over 200,000 .20 Without City $4.70 per 1000 gal. 1.10 per 1000 gal. " " " 1.00 " " " " " " .75 " " " " " " .55 " " " " " " .46 " " " SECTION 2: Section 47 of Ordinance No. 1, Series of 1960, shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 47. That from and after the effective date of this Ordinance, all water users who shall thereafter tap the water mains and lines of the Aspen Water-Works or shall tap a water main drawing water from the mains and lines of the Aspen Water-Works, shall pay a tap charge, above all other fees, based upon the size of the tap to be made and the location where said water is to be used, based upon the charges indicated below: Within City Without City 3/4 inch tap $50.00 $100.00 1 inch tap 75.00 150.00 1~ inch tap 100.00 200.00 2 inch tap 150.00 300.00 3 inch tap 250.00 500.00 4 inch tap 400.00 700.00 In addition to the above tap fee, the user tapping said line must pay for the cost of the installation of the service, including labor, material and equipment." SECTION 3: Ail Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, but such repeal shall not release any charge or penalty accrued thereunder or any proceedings to enforce the same. SECTION 4: An emergency is declared to exist and the immediate passage o~ this Ordinance is necessary for the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Aspen, Colorado, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after its final publication.
