AN ORDINANCE DEFINING ASSAULT AND BATTERY; PROVIDING A PENALTY THERE-
FOR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1. Assault and Battery is the unlawful beating of
another. Every person convicted of assault, or of assault and
battery, shall be punished by imprisonment inthe City Jail or
other place provided for the incarceration;for~E~a te ~r~ nor ex-
ceeding ~ days, or fine not exceeding ~~,~Dollars,
or by bot~ such fine and imprisonment. ' ....
Section 2. An emergency is declared to exist and the immediate
passage of this Ordinance is necessary for the public peace, health
and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Aspen, Colorado, and
this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days
after its final publication.
