IN .ITM~oS ~EREOF, I have hereunto set.~y hand ~d the s2e~l of the City of Aspen, Colorado, this ~__~day of (SEAL) Y ~ NOTICE CF HEARING NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council for the City of Aspen, Colorado, will hold a public hearing at the County Courthouse on 3une 13, 1957, at 8:00 P. M., pertaining to the adoption of the Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition; copies of said Code are o~ file with the City Clerk and are open for public inspection. The purpose of the Code is to establish rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures including permits and penalties. The said Code is pro~r~lgated by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, 610 South Broadway, Los Angeles 14, California. Dated at Aspen, Colorado, May 22, 1957. MAYOR RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Section IX, of Ordinance No. 6, Series of 1956, vests the City Council of the City of Aspen with power to review all building and sign permits where the character of the proposed construction might be so at variance with the established exterior architectural appeal and functional plan of the structures already located in the neighborhood as to depreciate the value of such established buildings, and WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of instructing the Building Inspector concerning this to avoid conflict, NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the Building Inspector be and he is hereby instructed to bring to the Council for review all application for building permits where the character of the proposed construction is at variance with the established exterior architectural appeal and functional plan of existing structures add where the proposed building or structure shall exceed two stories in height. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Aspen= That such portion of Monarch Street shown upon the city plat as abutting upon Lot S, in block 71 in the City of Aspen, be, and the same il hereby vacated, the said ground being more parti- cularly described as follows: Commencing at the southeast co~ner of lot S, in block 71 of the townsite of Aspen, running thence northerly along the east line of said lot to ire intersection with the townlite line, thence easterly along the said townsite line to itl intersection with the northerly line of Hallam Street, thence westerly along the said northerly line of Rallam street to the place of beginning.
