HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.012-85RESOL[]TION NO. 12 (Series of 1985) WHEREAS, A1 Blomquist has ably and faithfully served as Councilmember of the City of Aspen, Colorado for two years and such outstanding service has contributed to the continued prosperity of the City and the accomplishment of its goals, WHEREAS, A1 brought to the community's attention the need to focus on a year-round trails network as being an essential element of the resort, and WHEREAS, this Council has subsequently made significant progress toward the creation of a City wide trails system, and WHEREAS, A1 assisted in the formation of the Nordic Council which has created the trails link between Snowmass and Aspen, and WHEREAS, A1 has challenged this Council to support the purchase of open space, specifically Marolt, Shapery and Woods properties, which will protect the key green belt areas adjacent to the City, and WHEREAS, A1 has represented the City admirably and determinedly on the Colorado Municipal League and the Northwest Council of Governments, and WHEREAS, A1 never left a stone unturned in his pursuit of yet more revenue for yet another project, and WHEREAS, A1 would dramatically gesture with his glasses that the land fund must not be tampered with, and WHEREAS, A1 brought planning, creativity, imagination and hard work in assisting the people of Aspen to make this a better town and resort, and was all things considered a delight to work with NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, that by this resolution, A1 Blomquist be and hereby is commended for his service to the City of Aspen, and that this commendation be spread upon the public records of this city. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to A1 Blomquist as evidence of this appreciation of the City of Aspen for his service. Dated this 10th day of June 1985. William L.
