HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.019-85RECORD OF PROCEI::D]I~S RESOLUTION NO. ~ (Series of 1 A RESOLUTION ENDORSI~ TEE ROARTI~ FORK EAST NEIGHBORHOOD NASTER PLAN: A COMPONEIqT OF THE ASPEN AREA CONPREEENSI~E PLAN IOn T.~ WSEREA$, the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission (hereinafter "Commission") is authorized to periodically review, revise, amend and extend in greater detail components of the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Aspen; and WHEREAS, the Commission, in cooperation with the Pitkin County and Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado (hereinafter "City Council"), are presently considering the revision of the 1974 Roaring Area General Plan; and WHEREAS, the boundaries Fork East Amendment to the 1966 Aspen of the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Planning Area include land contiguous with State Highway 82 between the City of Aspen and the Difficult Campground; and WHEREAS, the revised Plan for the Roaring Fork East Area will be known as the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Naster Plan; and WHEREAS, the Commission, in cooperation with the PitkJn County and Zoning Commission, is developing Aspen Area; and WHEREAS, the area within the a new Comprehensive Plan for the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Master Plan corresponds with two of the fourteen (14) planning areas within the Aspen Area; and WBEREAS, the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Master Plan will be one component of the Aspen Area Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the existing conditions in the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Planning Area have been analyzed and documented within the Aspen Area Comprehensive Plan: Existing Conditions in the Aspen Area (August 1985); and WHEREAS, a public neighborhood meeting was held on March 28, 1984; and WHEREAS, the Commission held public meetings on May 28 and June 18, 1985, to discuss land use considerations in the planning area; and RECORD OF PROCEEDII~S WHEREAS, it is understood by the City Council that develop- ment of the Roaring Fork East Neighborhood Master Plan is an ongoing process and that after future consideration by the Commission it may be necessary to revise the Plan prior to its adoption; and WHEREAS, it is understood by the Commission and City Council that comprehensive plans are conceptual in nature and subject to revision to provide future land use flexibility; and WHEREAS, it is understood that the Neighborhood Master Plan will be subsequently sion for their formal adoption as part of the process associated with developing a new plan NOW, TEEREFORE, ASPEN, COLOR~DO: Section__/ That the City Roaring Fork East tioD of the Plan planning area.
