HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.005-84RESOLUTION # Series of 1984 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO WITHDRAW FROM THE COLORADO FIRE AND POLICE PENSION ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the City of Aspen is presently maintaining police employees in the state Fire and Police Pension Association; and WHEREAS, the Police Chief has directed the Personnel Director to investigate alternative pension plans for the purpose of improving their current benefit package; and WHEREAS, the City of Aspen wishes to exercise control of the cost of funding a retirement program for said employees; and WHEREAS, the affected police and fire employees of the City of Aspen have expressed an alternative to the current state pension plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1. The City of Aspen intends to withdraw from the State of Colorado Fire and Police Pension Association for the purpose of establishing an retirement plan. Section 2. Notice of improved and greater cost effective intent to withdraw is filed pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes 31-30-1003 (2) (b) (i), as amended, with intended date of withdrawal from the Fire and Police Pension Association hereby set at January 1, 1985.
