HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.022-84RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves RESOLUTION NO. ~ (Series of 1984) A RESOLUTION ADOPTING TRE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ANIF~L CONTROL TASK FORCE WHEREAS, the Animal Control Task Force has made recommenda- tions to the City as set forth in the Task Force Report appended hereto; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that animal control and the enforcement of existing animal control rules, regulations, procedures and policies is of extreme importance to the citizens and visitors of the City of Aspen; and WHEREAS, recognizing that an animal control problem exists, the City desires to adopt the recommendations of the Animal Con- trol Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 Recognizing that there is an animal control problem in the City of Aspen which deserves immediate attention by animal control personnel, the City Council does hereby express its desire that existing animal control regulations be strictly enforced in all instances. Section 2 The City Council does hereby adopt the recommendations of the Animal Control Task Force, as outlined in the June 1, 1984, memo- randum appended hereto and encourages the animal control depart- ment to publicize, to the fullest extent possible, the strict enforcement policy set forth herein and to encourage any and all complaints to the animal control department regarding dogs running at large and vicious and dangerous dogs. Additionally, the City Council requests that efforts be made within the animal control RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves department to enhance methods of communication between the public and the animal control and to devise innovative enforcement pro- cedures as recommended by the Task Force.
