'~ ~- (Series of 1984) RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ASPEN, COLORADO, RECO~ENDING CERTAIN I~PROVERENTS FOR STATE HIGHWAY 82 TO THE PITKIN COURTY BOARD OF CO~ISSIONERS W~EREAS, the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission and the Pitkin County Board of Commissioners are preparing a plan for the improvement of the segment of State Highway 82 located between Maroon Creek and E1 Jebel; and WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Board of Commissioners is seeking recommendations from local jurisdictions in Pitkin County regarding alternative improvements to State Highway 82; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and discussed alternative improvement plans for the segment of State Highway 82 located between Maroon Creek and Brush Creek Road at public meetings on April 26, 1984, May 21, 1984 and June 11, 1984; and WHEREAS, it is the City Council's intention to address the segment of State Highway 82 located between Maroon Creek and Seventh Street during the planning process for the revised Aspen Metro Area Comprehen- sive Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO= Section 1 That the following improvement guidelines are recommended to the Pitkin County Board of Commissioners as a consideration in developing a plan for the segment of State Highway 82 located between Maroon Creek and Brush Creek Road: 1. State Highway 82 should be upgraded along the existing alignment to a modified two-lane highway with safety provisions made for turning movements. 2. Highest priority should be given to the upgrading of the Maroon Creek bridge with adequate provisions for pedestrians and bicyclists. Dated: June 11, 1984 Willia~ L. Stifling, Nayoz I, Kathryn S.
