HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.035-84RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ~SOLUrIONNO.~'- (Series of 1984) WHEREAS, the City~mnager, designated by Charter to prepare the budget, has prepared and submitted to the Mayor and City Council the Annual Budget for the City of Aspen, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning Jamlary 1, 1984, and ending December 31, 1984; and WHEREAS, the assessed valuation of taxable property for the year 1984 in the City ofAspenreturned by the County Assessor of PitkinCounty, is the sum of EIGHTY-FOUR-~'2LLION, FOUR HIIN~REDFOUR THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED SIXTY ($84,404,660) DOLIARS; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proper mill levy upon each dollar of the assessed valuation on all taxable property within the City shall be that deterndmedby the County assessor sufficient to produce ad valoremtaxproceeds in the amount of THREEHUNDREDTWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINETY ($327,490) DOLLARS; NOW, ~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T~IE. CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF ASPEN, That for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the City of Aspen, Colorado, during the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1985 and ending December 31, 1985, there is hereby levied a tax on said dollar of the assessed valuation of the taxable property in the City of Aspen, Colorado for the purpose of raising the sum of $327,490which, together with the Sources Fund Balance and revenue fr~nall other source, is estimated to meet budget expenditure requirements and provide a reasonable closing F~nd Balance for said fiscal year. KOCH, duly appointed and acting City Clerk of the City of Aspen, Colorado, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of the Resolution adopted by the City Council at its meeting held October 22, 1984, which Resolution was adopted subsequent to the public hearing on such proposed budget held October 9, 1984, and prior to the final day established by law for the certification of the ensuing year's tax levy to Pitkin County, all as required by Sections 9.6 and 9.3 of the Aspen Home Rule Charter.
