HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.050-81RESOLUTION NO.~ (Series of 1981) WHEREAS, Randy Wedum has submitted an application to the City Council requesting that the moratorium on the demolition and removal of historic structures imposed by Ordinance No. 20 (Series of 1981) be lifted with respect to that structure located at 715 W. Main Street, City of Aspen, for the purpose of demolishing said structure; and WHEREAS, the City Council is advised that on February 10, 1981, the Historic Preservation Committee determined that the structure located at 715 W. Main could be demolished if no. acceptable site was found to move it to in Pitkin County, and WHEREAS, the new structure to be built on the site has been approved through the Historic Preservation Commission process, and WHEREAS, the approval for demolition was not acted upon prior to the institution of the moratorium, and WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance No. 20 (Series of 1981) provides that the moratorium may be lifted by resolution of the City Council with respect to an individual structure upon a finding by the City Council that the structure proposed to be removed or demolished is not, in fact, historically or architecturally significant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That the City Council finds that the structure located at 715 W, Main Street, City of Aspen, is not historically or architecturally significant, and the moratorium imposed by Ordinance No, 20 (Series of 1981) be and the same is hereby lifted with respect to said structure for the purpose of demolition. Section 2 That the Chief Building Inspector be and he hereby is authorized to issue a building permit for the purpose of demolishing the structure at 715 W, Main Street.
