HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.019-79RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS RESOLUTION NO. /q (Series of 1979) WHEREAS, the City Council of Aspen, Colorado, has, by its adoption of Ordinance No. , Series of 1979, approved the imposition of a one-half of one percent (1/2 of 1%) tax upon real estate transfers within the City of Aspen, Colorado; and WHEREAS, Section 12.1 of the Charter of the City of Aspen, Colorado, requires that no excise tax be levied until such tax shall have been approved by a majority of the electors voting at a regular or special election on the same; and WHEREAS, formal action is necessary to place this issue on the ballot, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That at the Special Election to be held in the City of Aspen, Colorado, on Tuesday, the llth day of December, 1979, there shall be submitted to a vote of the qualified, registered electors of the City, the following question as set forth below, which ques- be similarly stated in the Ballot Label and Notice of tion shall Election.
