RESOLUTION NO. 22
(Series of 1978)
WHEREAS, we, the Council of the City of Aspen, believe
that the failure to provide convenient air service to this
community will damage the economy of Aspen; and
WHEREAS, growth and its adverse impacts are more
appropriately addressed directly, specifically within the
Pitkin County/Aspen Growth Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, many of those who are unable to obtain
convenient air service are likely to resort to rental cars
for transportation, the decision to restrict air service
to this community will work in opposition to the auto dis-
incentive program of the City of Aspen together with the
City's goals in reducing air pollution; and
WHEREAS, the public has the opportunity to voice
its opinion on this issue which is vital to the general
economy of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That we encourage the public to exercise their right
to vote on this issue at the general election to be held
November 7, 1978.
Section 2
