HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.036-75RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves RESOLUTION NO. 36 (Series of 1975) WHEREAS, the Citizens Transit Design Committee has issued its "Light Rail Transit System for Pitkin County, Community Criteria and Recommendation for Final Design", which report proposes an alloc- ation scenario for the "one-time" contribution for the twenty (20%) percent local share from private and public agencies to accumulate the required $2.4 million local share of the requested UMTA grant, and WHEREAS, Schedule C of the tabulation has been found accept- able by various agencies, including the Aspen Ski Corporation, and Pitkin County, in support of its UMTA grant application, is seeking the commitments of Highlands, Snowmass and the City of Aspen to the contributions attributed to each in Schedule C, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to make of record its endorsement of the UMTA grant application and do so by committing the City to the contribution of Two Hundred Thousand ($200,000.00) Dollars, as anticipated in Schedule C, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: 1. That it does hereby endorse the application of Pitkin County for UMTA grant funds for implementation of a light rail transit system. 2. That it'does pledge, over the fiscal years 1976 and 1977, the amount of Two Hundred Thousand ($200,000.00) Dollars as its "one- time" contribution for the twenty (20%) percent local share required by UMTA from private and public agencies, such commitment being made, however, with the understanding that: RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves (a) its contribution may be made in cash or with "in-Rind" services, (b) its contribution is conditioned upon like con- tribution by the Ski Corporation, Highlands, Snowmass and Pitkin County of the amounts attributable to each in Schedule C of the allocation scenario found on Pages 171 and 172 of the Citizens Transit Design Committee re- port described above, and (c) its contribution must be formally approved by ordinance or resolution or other procedures required by local law for final appropriation or funds. 3.
