HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.048-00 RESOLUTION #48 (Series of 2000) WHEREAS, the City of Aspen requires the adoption of an ordinance for water system extensions beyond the current municipal boundaries; and, WHEREAS, the City of Aspen has established a policy requiring water rights dedications or payment in-lieu thereof when water service is extended beyond the current municipal boundaries; and, WHEREAS, the City of Aspen requires that development outside the Municipal Boundaries demonstrates that an adequate physical supply of water be part of the water service requirement; and, WHEREAS, the City of Aspen's Asset Management Program has identified the proposed cost and timing of improvements to the City's well field to provide for the increase in physical water supplies associated with development outside the municipal boundaries; and, WHEREAS, the City of Aspen supports the development of affordable housing consistent with the 2000 Update of the Aspen Area Community Plan; and, WHEREAS, the City of Aspen has an existing policy of waiving utility connection chm'ges or tap fees for affordable housing projects located both inside and outside the municipal boundaries; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That it is the policy of the Aspen City Council to provide the same consideration for waiver of in-lieu-of water rights and for well development charges for affordable housing projects as currently codified for tap fee waivers.
