(Series of 1974)
WHEREAS, the Aspen City Council by action taken
at its July 8, 1974, meeting has advised its counsel
to withdraw the City of Aspen as a party protestant
from the Twin Lakes Litigation, more specifically,
Actions No. W-1869 and W-1901 in the District Court
in and for Water District No. 5, and
WHEREAS, such withdrawal was based on reasons
other than the important state and local objectives
sought to be accomplished by protesting the Twin Lakes
applications for change of use, and the City Council
wishes to restate its commitment to the idea of minimum
stream flows for Colorado rivers and their tributaries,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO,
That the Aspen City Council restates and makes
known its continuing support for the maintenance of
minimum stream flows for Colorado rivers and tributaries
and does hereby make the same of record and pledge its
continuing support for programs in support of minimum
stream flows.
