(Series of 1972) WHEREAS, the United States Postal Service District Office has presented a proposal for an enlarged central post office in the City of Aspen, Pitkin County, Colorado. AND WHEREAS, the Aspen planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed and rejected such proposal in accordance with their Resolution dated May 18, 1972. AND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Aspen desires to endorse the Resolution of the Aspen Planning Commission. NOW, Aspen hereby endorses and accepts Planning Commission dated May 18, attached hereto. THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of the Resolution of the Aspen 1972, which Resolution is BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the United States Postal Service and its representatives be encouraged to re- evaluate their proposed plan for an enlarged central post office; that cooperation between the U.S.P.S, the City Council of the City of Aspen, and the Aspen Planning Commission be effectuated; and that the needs and desires of the residents of the City of Aspen and the social and economic impact on the community be considered.
