Series of 1972 WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Aspen, Colorado, has adopted the Transportation Plan in concept, and WHEREAS, a one per cent sales tax has been placed upon the ballot for the November 7, 1972, election, and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council for the City of Aspen~ to use said 1% sales tax to fund the Transportation Plan to be adopted, for the construction of malls, the transportation system, the ~uisition of land there- for, and for any required parking, and WHEREAS, it is reco~nlzed there will not be any revenues immediately to operate the bus systems or to maintain and enforce the parkin§ areas, and WHEREAS, the City Council realizes that certain par- cels of land critical to the success of this plan may be developed and no longer available to the Transportation Plan, aqd WHEREAS, the timing for implementation of the total Transportation Plan is becoming critical, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of Aspen urges the passage of the 1% sales tax on November 7, 1972, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of Aspen pledges all of the revenues from said 1% sales tax for the implementation of the Area Transportation Plan.
