RESOLUTION NO. ~d~
(Series of 1971)
WHEREAS, the City of Aspen owns real property and
improvements known as The Happy Hearth Lodge, City of Aspen,
County of Pitkin, State of Colorado.
AND WHEREAS, the City of Aspen desires to sell said
real property and improvements.
AND WHEREAS, Section 13.4 of the Charter for the
City of Aspen, Colorado requires the approval of a majority
of electors voting thereon, prior to said sale.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That in accordance with the Charter for the City of
Aspen, Colorado a special election is hereby called for
December 7, 1971 in the City of Aspen to determine whether the
City may sell the real property and improvements known as The
Happy Hearth Lodge, consisting of 5.5 acres, at a purchase
price of Five Hundred Thousand ($500,000.00) Dollars.
Be it further provided that the special election
called herein shall be held in conformity with the Colorado
Municipal Election Laws.

by the Aspen City Council at a regular meeting held October 4,

RESOLUTION
FLOOD PLAIN STUDY
WHEREAS, flood control standards should be practiced
to promote orderly development along the Roaring Fork
River and its tributaries, and
WHEREAS, new construction along the Roaring Fork River
and its tributaries has occurred to such an extent that it
is essential to designate the limits of the natural drainage
courses to protect the
residents of the area,
WHEREAS,
regulations
health,
and
the City of Aspen has the authority
for the purpose of avoiding hazards
safety and welfare of the
to adopt
to persons
and property from flooding and the authority to protect
the natural drainage courses of the area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Corps of
Engineers is hereby requested to conduct a Flood Plain
Study of the Roaring Fork River and its tributaries to
determine the limits of natural drainage courses subject to
development pressures, and the Colorado Conservation Board
is hereby requested to designate a high priority for con-
ducting said study.

CERTIFICATION OF TAX LEVY OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN
TO: PITKIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
This is to certify that the tax levy to be assessed by you
upon all property within the limits of the City of Aspen for the
year 1972, as determined and fixed by the City Council of the City of
Aspen, Colorado, in Resolution No. 21 adopted October 18, 1971 is
3.6 mills. The revenue derived from said levy is to be used for the
purpose of paying the expenses of the municipal government and
interest upon and principal of outstanding bonds, and you are hereby
authorized and directed to extend said levy upon your tax list.
This is to further certify that attached hereto is a true
and correct copy of said Resolution No. 21 levying taxes for the year
1972.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
the seal of the City of Aspen, Colorado, this 19thday of
October , 1971.
