HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.hpc.001-1974RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE RECOM~NDING T~ DESIGNATION OF THE ASPEN CITY HALL AS AN HISTORIC STRUCTURE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS AN HISTORIC SITE WHEREAS, the Aspen Historic Preservation Committee has examined the structure and site known as the Aspen City Hall, more particularly described as: Ail of lots K, L, M, N and O and the West 22½ feet of lot P, Block 93, City and Townsite of Aspen, Pitkin County, Colorado, and ?~ WHEREAS, the preliminary investigation and review indicates that i~ the structure and site is eligible and has been selected for designation as an H, Historic Overlay District, and WHEREAS, th~ Historic Preservation Committee wishes to recommend the above described historic designation to the city planning commission and the city co~n~cil pursuant to the procedural provisions of Section 24-9.1 of the Municipal Code, and to, initially, present its findings to the planning commission for its preliminary approval, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE: 1. That the structure and site wire,in the City of Aspen, Colorado, known ~as the Aspen City Hall, be recommended as an H, Historic Overlay District, and that such designation shall apply to the following described real property: Ail of lots K, L, M, N and O and the West 22~ feet of lot P, Block 93, City and Townsite of Aspen, Pitkin County, Colorado. 2. That a request be made for agenda time before the planning and zoning commission at a regular meeting to allow the Historic Preservation Committee to present its findings and seek the preliminary approval of the planning and zoning co~mnission.
