HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.hpc.002-1978RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves RESOLUTION Historic Preservation Committee WHEREAS, the Aspen Historic Preservation Committee is charged with preserving the architectural heritage and historical record of the City of Aspen, and WHEREAS, the City of Aspen will most probably acquire ownership of the Holy Cross Elec~ic Warehouse Building, and WHEREAS, the building is documented as the first hydro-electric generating plant located west of the Mississippi River, and WHEREAS, the building is presently in jeapordy due to its location and proximity to the flood plain, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Aspen Historic Preservation Committee recommends that the City Council consider designation of the Holy Cross Electric Warehouse Building as an historic landmark upon completion of the negotiations with Holy Cross Electric Association, Inc., and acquisition of the property.
