HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.hpc.006-1997RESOLUTION NO. ~ , SERIES OF 1997 RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION APPROVING AN APPLICATION ]FOR MINOR DEVELOPMENT ]FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 333 W. MAIN STREET, UNIT 3, ASPEN, COLORADO WHEREAS the applicant, Diane Rosenthal, represented by Chris Shipp, has requested minor development approval for the property located at 333 W. Main Street, Unit 3, to alter windows and doors on the south and east sides of the unit. The property is a designated historic landmark and is located within the Main Street Historic District, and WHEREAS all development in an "H," Historic Overlay District or development involving a historic landmark must meet all four Development Review Standards of Section 26.72.010(D) of the Aspen Land Use Code in order for HPC to grant approval, namely: Standard: The proposed development is compatible in general design, massing and volume, scale and site plan with designated historic structures located on the parcel and with development on adjacent parcels when the subject site is in a "H," Historic Overlay District or is adjacent to an Historic Landmark. 2. Standard: The proposed development reflects and is consistent with the character of the neighborhood of the parcel proposed for development. Standard: The proposed development enhances or does not detract from the historic significance of designated historic structures located on the parcel proposed for development or on adjacent parcels. Standard: The proposed development enhances or does not diminish from the architectural character or integrity of a designated historic structure or part thereof, and WHEREAS, Amy Amidon, in her staff report dated March 26, 1997, recommended approval with the condition that the new windows on the south be more vertical in nature, and WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission on March 26, 1997, the Commission considered and approved the application without conditions by a vote of 7-0. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That minor development approval for the project located at 333 W. Main Street, Unit 3, Aspen, Colorado, be approved without conditions.
