HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.hpc.012-2002RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE FINAL APPROVAL GRANTED FOR THE CHRISTIANIA LODGE, LOCATED AT 501 W. MAIN STREET, LOTS A-I, BLOCK 31, CITY AND TOWNSITE OF ASPEN, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 12, SERIES OF 2002 Parcel ID ti: 2735-124-49-001 WHEREAS, the applicant, represented by Seedorf and Howie, has requested an amendment to the final approval granted via Resolution #58, Series of 2001, for the Christiania Lodge, 501 W. Main Street, Lots A-I, Block 31, City and Townsite of Aspen; and WHEREAS, the amendment affects the design of the fourplex, and the main lodge building, minor modifications to the Pan Abode cabins and the 19t~ century log cabin; and WHEREAS, Amy Guthrie, in her staff report dated April I0, 2002 performed an analysis of the application based on the standards and the "City of Aspen Historic Preservation Design Guidelines," and recommended approval; and WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held on April 10, 2002 the Historic Preservation Commission considered the application, found the application to meet the standards and the design guidelines, and approved the application by a vote of 5 to 0. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the HPC approves amendments to the final development plan at 501 W. Main Street, Lots A-I, Block 31, City and Townsite of Aspen, with the following condition: 1. The project monitors will perform an on-site inspection of the Callahan log cabin prior to work commencing on that building, to clarify what existing materials must be retained.
