HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.apz.016-85RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN PLANNING AND ZONING CO~qlqISSION REQUESTING THE ASPEN CITY COUNCIL TO PURSUE ACQUISITION OF A TRAIL EASF~ENT ON LOT I OF THE SA~qlLL PROPERTY ResolutiOn No. 85-16 WHEREAS, the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission (hereinafter "Commission") has approved Resolution No. 85-17, recognizing the Aspen Area Comprehensive Plan: Parks/Recreation/Open Space/Trails Element as to decisions relating to Parks/Recreation/Open an interim guide Space/Trails; and WHEREAS, the Parks/Recreation/Open Space/Trails Element identi- fies the trail easement on Lot 1 of the Sawmill Property as a short- term priority; and WHEREAS, Lot 1 of the Sawmill Property is currently for sale; and WHEREAS, the sale and development of Lot 1 of the Sawmill Property could WHEREAS, cause the loss of the Aspen/Snowmass bridge over Castle Creek at the Sawmill properties cross country ski trails this season; and WHEREAS, a pedestrian bridge across Castle the trail easement; and Nordic Council plans to construct a for expansion of easement at Lot 1 of the Marolt-Thomas properties, rant open space parcels, and trail system. Continue to negotiate (if progress can be made); or 3. Buy Sawmill Lot 1; dedicate the appropriate trail easement; and resell Lot 1 of the Sawmill Property.
