HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.apz.014-84RESOLUTION OF T~E ASPEN PLANNII~G AND ZG~ING CO~ISSION ALL~'~ING T~E TEMPORARY STORAGE OF FILL I~TERIAL ON THE RIO GRANDE PROPERTY UNDER C~RTAIN STIPULATIONS Resolution No. 84-14 WHEREA~, the Aspen Art Museum was threatened by flood waters in the spring of 1984; and W~EREAS, the City of Aspen Engineering Department and Aspen City Council feel that emergency measures must be taken to assure that a similar event does not threaten the structure in the spring runoff season of 1985; and WHEREAS, an application was submitted to the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission for Stream Margin Review to channelize the Roaring Fork River in a way which would serve to protect the structure; and WHEREAS, Council sent an amendment to the Planning and Zoning Commission requesting approval to temporarily store the fill material within the 100 foot line from the river. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning and Zoning Commission of Aspen, Colorado, that the Commission feels that the storage of fill on this area of the Rio Grande property is in violation of Stream Margin Review criteria but will be allowed provided that: 1. An SPA plan which details landscaping (at a minimum) is submitted for consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission by their first meeting of August, 1985 and is accepted 2. The fill APPROVED by regular meeting by October 1, 1985; or is removed by October 1, the Aspen Planning and on December 4, 1984. 1985.
