HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.apz.015-79 RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING AGAINST THE APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Resolution No. 79- /~-. WHEREAS, on July 31, 1979 and on August 21, 1979, the Planning and Zoning Commission considered whether or not the Commission would benefit by having two alternate members appointed, and has determined that alternate members are not necessary for the following reasons: 1. Two additional discussing parties are not necessary as all points are generally covered by the seven members already appointed to the Commission, and 2. In the past five years, there has been only one occasion where there was not a quorum present at a regular meeting, and that lack of a quorum was due to the fact that one member of the Commission was elected to City Council and another member was not reappointed to the Commission after his term of office expired. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission does hereby recommend against the appointment of two additional members to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Adopted this 4th day of September, 1979 by the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission. ATTEST: ~f~rds~ro~, ~C~" ' ..... Aspe~'/Planning and Zoning Commission Sheryl S~nen,-1)eputy City Clerk
