HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.apz.009-76RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSSION RECOMMENDING H-HISTORIC DESIGNATION OF THE HAROLD ROSS RESIDENCE WHEREAS, the Aspen Historical Preservation Comraittee has received an Owners request to designate the Ross Residence, birth- palce of Harold Ross, founder of the New Yorker Magazine, as an his- toric site and landmark, and WHEREAS, the Historical Preservation Committee has completed documentation of the historic significance of the Ross residence and passed a resolution on October 12, 1976 recommending H-Historic Des- ignation of the structure, and WHEREAS, a joint public hearing of the Historical Preservation Committee and the Planning and Zoning Commission was held on Novem- ber 2, 1976. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission has evaluated the proposed designation and finds that it is compatible with the Aspen Area General Plan in that Asepn's Historic heritage will be preserved and promoted, and the designation will help preserve the residential scale and character of the West End neighborhood according to Section 24-9.5 of the Aspen Zoning Code, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Aspen Planning and Zoning Com- mission recommends H-Historic Designation for the Ross Residence located on Block 24, Lots G, H, and I. , 1976.
