Hey Cathy, First off no one should be climbing our street light poles. Whomever is in charge of the market should
have made sure that their was a ladder on hand to plug in the extension cords. We do not like having our outlets
at the bottom of our poles as thera is a safety issue as well as the fact that people like to use them when they
should not. Moving them all down the poles is something I will have to discuss with Phil and Jinx. The outlet next
to City hall was fine until the guy with the roaster put a new motor on and it must be a higher amperage motor. We
will take a closer look at that outlet but I am going to say that we are probably not going to be able to do much
with it. Thanks, Ron

Subject: saturday market
HI all:
This morning we had a CCLC meeting and discussed the Saturday market.
I relayed the issue of Stacy Devries plugging electricity into the City Hall building. Mentioned the canary initiative
etc. and the safety issues of dragging the extension cord down the sidewalk.
The market manager said he has to use City Hall because when he plugs into the light post twice on Saturday's
they pop?
I know we go over this electricity issue yearly. I also told them that the City is not going to dig up the streets for
transformers etc. without knowing if the market will be there after 2006 and it is a capital expense.
Is there anything we can do with the light pole on Hopkins/Galena north side?
The other issue is musicians plugging into the light posts and is it even feasible to put the outlets down lower on
the polls.
The CCLC would like a response in writing for their next meeting by Nov. 1 1th.
I really appreciate any help you can give me. I know the electric dept. turned all the electricity on the first
Saturday.....maybe things are creeping into the market that weren't there originally,,,I don't know.
Thanks.
