Special Meeting Aspen City Council October 2, 1984
Mayor Stirling called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Councilmembers Collins, Walls
Blomquist and Knecht present.
MALL LIGHTING PROJECT BIDS
Monroe Summers told Council there was a bid opening for this project last week. The staff
had an estimate of construction costs prepared by a local electrician of $124,000; the
bids came in at $169,000. Summers said he feels the high bid is due to the time of year,
the amount of work contractors are currently trying to finish up, and the cold weather.
Summers recommended to Council these bids not be accepted and that the city rebid in early
1985 with an eye towards the construction date.
Councilman Blomquist moved to defer 1985 bidding of mall lighting project; seconded by
Councilman Collins. All in favor, motion carried.
Councilwoman Walls moved to adjourn a~ 5:15 p.m.; seconded by Councilman Blomquist. All
in favor, motion carried.
