Regular Meeting Aspen City Council August 10, 1981
Mayor Edel asked why all the special event permits were for the same day. City Clerk
Koch explained this is Labor day weekend and there are events planned all over town.
Councilman Collins asked what the reason for the extension of the lease. Lois Butterbaughll
explained the Aspen Ski Club had come to Council in the Spring and requested a longer
lease. This is not a new lease but a modification of the lease for a term not to ~xceed
50 years. This is for the purposes of financing. The Ski Club wants to do some remodelling
on their building. Chapman said the lease could be amended to have any improvements up
to city approval.
Councilwoman Michael moved to approve the consent agenda; seconded by Councilman Parry.>
The consent agenda is 1) Temporary Municipal Judge Appointment; 2) Special Event Permits -
Booster Club, Pitkin County Chamber of Commerce, Aspen Center for the Visual Arts; 3)
Liquor License Renewals - Freddies; City Market; Magnifico's; 4) Modification of the
Aspen Ski Club Lease; 5) Black Easement Agreement - waterline; 6) Pomeroy Easement
Agreement - waterline. All in favor, motion carried.
Councilwoman Michael moved to ad~journ at 7:50 p.m.; seconded by Councilman Collins. All
in favor, motion carried.
