Historic Preservation Coranittee Regular Meeting April 12, 1983 City Council Chambers
The Historic Preservation Conm~ttee held its regular meeting on April 12, 1983 in the City
Council Chambers; Excused absents are Bill Clark, Richard Cicero, GeorgeannWaggaman, Mona
Frost; Attending were acting chairperson, Terry End, Nick Pasquarella, Connie Mc Crudden,
Gretchen Greenwood, staff, Bill Dreuding, and Colette Penne;

The meeting opened to new business, the review of proposed facade changes to the
KSi~N office at 332 W. Main, with Donovan Mahoney, asking this conraittee to approve
changes in the exterior to enable them to con%ert storage space on the third
floor to office space. In doing this, it will add mere light to the up st~i~m
office space, there was discussion of adding tho windows; Nick Pasquaretla
moved to approve the change in the victorian, approving the addition of glass
up to the peek on the south facing side, and the addition of the window up to
the peck on the west facing side, of 332 W. Main on the third level, seconded
by Connie McCrudden, all in Favor, motion carried.
Aspen
Before leaving he mentioned that not to confuse the members the station
would like also to add a sky light that will face towards the other house,
on the East side and the proposed change which is and additional request,
discussion took place with tho Nick Pasquarella asking for this item to ho
tabled till the conr~ittee can take another look at the building, Seconded
by Terry End, because this meeting will ho short it was felt that after
the rest of the agenda items the members could continue this item and
discuss it after seeing the building today, after tho site visit it was
decided to table tho sky light till the next meeting;
Next was tho preliminary review of tho proposed faeelift for the Aspen Laundry
at 301 E. Hopkins,Russ Pielstick, at the ~ of Monar~mmnd Hopkins,
the exterior mterial was e~01ained,with a wood detail trim of the windows,
the Qc~[ is wood; the colors are as now four, green, two shades of brown, and
gold; tho rock will ho the same as on the Ovenmyer building; Terry End
asked if there was any discussion about the extrance or facial or the window
treatment., the cor~nittee felt they would like to discuss the choice of colors
more especially the gold and the green, Russ said he choice of recessive colors
rather than advancing colors to help the looks of the building, and to quite the
building down a little ~ .Russ said that his plans were to level the roof , also
the sidewalk will be ir~proved and the post will ho remeved for a better
walk way;Gretchen Gre~nwoo~oved to approve the preliminary hemring of the
Aspen Laundry at 301 ~,. Hopkins for the facade changes but that the conlnittee
table the decision on the color and to see another color chart,
Connie McC~dden seconded the motion, all in favor, motion carried;
Colette Penne said she will publish this item for Public Hearing,and
final review, May 10,1983.
The letter frcmBill Clark was read to the members of the coranittee
but it wasfelt that with GeorgeannWaggaman also absent for this m meting,
that any decision should wait till more members are present.
Meeting adjourned to visit the site at 332 W. Main Street.
