HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.hpc.19830726RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves Historic Preservation Cc~mittee regular meeting July 26, City Council Chambers The Historic Preservation Ccm~littee held its regular meeting on July 26, 1983 in the City Council Chambers; Present wore Nick Pasquarella, Mona Frost, Connie McCrudden, GeorgeannWagg~nan, Richard Cicero and colette Penne. The meeting was called to order and Nick Pasquarella moved to approve the minutes for the meeting of July 12th, seconded by Mona Frost, all in favor, motion carried. Asked if anyone was able to attend the "Building Better Beards" no... 709 W. Main Bill Gilner The first item on old business, was the Public Hearing and final review of a new residence at 709 W. Main by Bill Gilner; Georgeann Waggaman opened the Public Hearing; Bill Gilner was asked to review the project, for the mintues. Bill Gilner said this plans have the changes included, linto's on the windows, like the cc~littee suggested, so this will be a revised set of plans, except for the removeable of an arch, that Bill Gilner can go either way; Beige stucco, redwood trim, sliding windows on the side, the awnings would bejust in front of the doorway, and of a canvas material like the one at Andrea's; Nick Pasquarella said he has no problem with the loop on the roof, if he wants it, let him; Georgeann Wagg~a~ln said she did not mind the arch in front either, and that it could be an option as far as Bill is c~ncerned; Bill Gilner said the perma shield ccmes in dark brown or white, the dark brown will look a lot better the members said, and Bill said he had ' planned to use the dark brown, The color of the awnings, will cc~e back before ~ for approval later, Public Hearing was closed; Richard Cicero moved t6 approve as stm~ittedbyBill Gilner for a new residences at 709 W. Main with the color changes, Mona Frost seconded the motion, all in favor, motion carried; Applejack Lodge New Business Preliminary Review for the face lift for the ApplejackLodge, Dave Gibson the architect for the project, the site plan is for the east and north elvations; What they wish is to add a entry canopy ,faced with copper coated motal, and a smaller one o~r the entl-y, remove the indoor pool and put an outdoor hot pool, andenclose the parking lot with a cedar wall, and stone piers at intervals; The structural frame of the building , will stay basically the same and adding to it, it will have new cedar siding, new stone facing: On the East side there will be decks and patio doors to each of the unit~, on the west facade the windows are now about eight inches wide, and they would like to go to a code side exit which is 22 inches wide by . Signage, will be a samll sign off the side of the pier; The parking will actually add three more spaces by The copper will notbecc~e dark and the canopy will be 12 by 20 feet, Georgeann Waggaman asked for the next meeting that they attend to bring a sample of the copper; Steelballards~willbe put around the tree in the driveway; Mona Frost moved to give preliminary aUproval to the plans as presented byDave Gibson for the ApplejackLodge, seconded by Nick Pasquarella, all in favor, motion carried. The Public Hearing will be scheduled for August 23; Fence Little Victorian cond Main St. A request to put up a fence on Main Street byAlison Burk came before ~ the request consisted of a cedar fence, natural wood and to be six feet high, and 30 feet frc~the corner, the Little Victorian. is by Main and sixth Street , The members discussed the issue with applicant, asking her to seal or varish it if it will not be painted to protect the wood; The request is to give her some privacy frem people loo~ng into her front window, but the msmbers had sc~e problems with the size of fence and Nick Pasquarella said hewould sure like to look at where they wish to put a six foot fence on Main Street, and the rest of the members agreed to a site visit and to review this ite~ on August 9th and will be the first it~ of old business on that agenda. The last item on the agenda was the Public Hearing and final consideration for the choice of color for the antique light poles in town, it is a continued meeting and Public Hearing frem the July 12 th meeting with Tarry Yaw and Jim Holland the Parks director. ~e of Light~oles The meeting departed for the site visit, the m~mbers discussed the colors and deci~ded that a color between the light ke&ly green, and the green black would be best, When they paint the pole the choice of this con~ittee, then the name and number of the color will be added to the minutes.
