HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.hpc.19811020RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 20, 1981 The Historic Preservation Committee held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 1981 in the City Council Chambers in City Hall. Members present were. Chairman Bill Clark, Georgeann Waggaman, Nick Pasquarella, Larry Groen, and Margie Brenner. Colette Penne of the City Planning Department was also present. The meeting was called to order, roll was called. It must be noted here that Richard Cicero will be out of town for the month of November and part of December and has requested an excused absence. Review of minor amendment for the Red Onion- Tom Wells. The item was reviewed and approved unanimously. Public Hearing on the final design of the proposed new building at 605 West Main, Dr. Wesson. - Cal Hashimoto, Mr. Hashimoto presented to the Committee the plans for the building, including the window positions, landscaping, the wood-shingled roof, the blinds, and the porches. Larry makes the motion to approve and it is seconded by Terry. All in favor. Disscussion of HPC proceedure-- Colette stated that the proccedure outlined in the code should be reinstituted, in that if someone calls her and asks to get on the HPC agenda she will send them to the building department with three copies of the plans which will be stamped as received by that department and then will be sent to her. There are two new planners and as of January 1, 1982, a case load proceedure can be instituted. A discussion of a more convenient way to distribute the packets brought forth the suggestion to have boxes built for the members below the' back stairs. The Committee will have a say in the colors used in the buildings that are under consideration. The COmmittee wil get together with City Attorney Paul Taddune to see how much say they can have on the colors and lanscaping. Review of the Prospector Lodge- Dave Gibson Dave Gibson presented to the Committee a model of the proposed building. The major concern of the HPC was the proposed hot tubs on all the balconies, how the people using them would be or not be dressed, and what kind of repercussions this would have on the town. It was decided unanimously that the issue would have to go to a Public Hearing, which is scheduled for November the 10th. It would be up to the builders to explain to the public exactly what they have planned. Preliminary review of proposed addition to 319 N 4th- Bill Clark The meeting was turned over to Larry to chair for this section of the meeting. Bill wants to add a small addition between his present house and garage. It was decided by all that the HPC would give preliminary approval to the addition but to be totally correct in their proceedure they will take this issue before public hearing, on November 10th. Designations- With owner consent. These were all approved, after the pictures of all the properties were circulated. Larry made the motion to approve. All in favor.
